CCTV Cabling & Wiring Rules

The Analog connection

The connection between the camera and the DVR is most often done using coaxial cable (75 ohms).
Connectivity is done with BNC connectors (welded, crimped or screwed).
In general, the maximum distance is 200 meters with KX6 coaxial cable and 500 meters with KX8 coaxial cable.

Beyond these distances, several solutions can be envisaged:
. Insert a video amplifier
. Choose another mode of transmission:

  •      Twisted pair
  •      Fiber Optic
